I do not know if Maggie was a good canoe dog, but I bet she was. She's been absolutely everywhere a canoe can go. Perhaps you can say better than I just what makes a good canoe dog, but a few good ones come to mind. Phil and Paula's "Flap" and Mike Clark's "Hobo" were gooduns. Hobo, an apt name for a dog who showed up at Mike's one day, stayed a number of years and then left. Perhaps he's "riding the rails" as a good hobo will do.
Yeah, Maggie had been everywhere. She came to a Rendezvous years ago as a little ball of fur and came again later when Ted Bell of Bell Canoes exhibited there. You'll see her every time you see a Bell Canoe. Her "fingerprint" is on every one of them and so a part of her has been everywhere a Bell has been and I guess that makes her a good canoe dog. Does in my book.
