Colorado River, Smithville To Lagrange

Meet at Buffalo Trail Park in LaGrange, on Business 71  

This is a roughly 35.0-mile paddle on the Colorado River, on the final leg of the CR 100K.  Flows are looking good, and this stretch of the river is free of obstructions/hazards at these levels, though if the river returns to normal, Buffalo Wallow Rapid and the rock garden above LaGrange could be bumpy..

 

Skill Level:  Novice.  Generally flat water, but it’s fairly long for a day trip.

Houston Canoe Club members must have an up to date Waiver on file, or print one from the website and bring it, signed, to the putin. Members must also have an American Canoe Association up to date membership. Non-HCC members are welcome, must sign a waiver and pay a $5 fee also if they are not card carrying American Canoe Association members. Non-HCC members who are American Canoe Association members are welcome to join on the paddle, must bring your card and sign the HCC waiver. Thank you for your compliance.
