2018 Trash Bash, Armand Bayou
Author Last Post

Dear Paddlers that are going to the 2018 Trash Bash at Armand Bayou. Here is an announcement from the Trash Bash Coordinator.

Good afternoon.

I wanted to share an important update to Trash Bash at Armand Bayou.

We will NOT be serving canned sodas, other canned beverages, and will have limited amounts of pre-bottled water at Trash Bash Armand Bayou site this year (don’t worry, water IS available, read on!). In an effort to be more environmentally conscious and to reduce the amount of trash that we create at this event, the following drink options will be available:

  • Round coolers filled with ice and water to self-serve into a provided compostable cup. IT IS BEST TO BRING YOUR OWN REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE if you have one.
  • Round coolers filled with iced-down Gatorade, different flavors provided, to self-serve into a provided compostable cup. Or, you can fill your own bottle that you bring with you.
  • We will have special bins for collecting your compostable cups once you finish with them.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know.

Thank you!

Dear Paddlers,

Let's clean it like we mean it at Armand Bayou, March 24. Join me and my family at Armand Bayou to paddle, help the environment, and have fun.

We meet at 7:30 at the boat launch, sign the HCC participant list and waiver. Sign Trash Bash waiver and pick up trash bash gear. When you are ready, paddle along the shore line and banks using the buddy system picking up trash. Around 10:30 head back to the boat launch, pack up boat and gear, and head to the lunch area.

We will be treated to t-shirts, goodie-bags, music, hot dogs, jelly sandwiches, drinks, chips, and cookies. The last two years there was a raffle with items for the many children that attend.

Please register through the HCC event calendar.

Read the Trash Bash page on safety.
